It is the oldest resort in the country, famous for its waterfall on the Vuoksi River, which the great Russian Empress Catherine II herself came to admire.The incredibly picturesque Imatrankoski waterfall is located on the territory of Kruununpuisto, the oldest nature reserve in Finland. In the summer, as well as on New Year and Christmas, light shows are held here, accompanied by the rock music or works by Sibelius.Imatra has all kinds of attractions &#8211; from a cultural center and museums to sports facilities and a water park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This city is perfect for both winter and summer holidays. Tourists can enjoy ski slopes, snowmobile safaris, golf, winter and summer fishing, horse riding, mushroom and berry picking, a boat trip along Saimaa lake and many other activities.
